Job Description

Job description:
This position is a true generalist supporting the head of the department and working in all disciplines of Human Resources (e.g. benefits, compensation, employee activities, employee recognition, employee relations, recruiting, training, etc.)

? Approves merit increases and performance reviews, corrective action notices and performance improvement plans
? Works with the Director of Human Resources on confidential employee relations matters and investigations
? Handles suspensions and terminations
? Researches and drafts policies and procedures
? Audits HR Department to makes sure department is in compliance with Policy & Procedure
? Responsible for working with insurance carrier on any guests claims
? Works with EDD on processing claims and represents company at hearings
? Provides company communication to team members (e.g. Newsletter, Bulletin Board, Napkin Holders, payroll stuffers, etc.)
? Supports and is back-up for Benefits Coordinator, Human Resources Coordinator, Recruiter & Compensation Specialist, and Training Manager
? Other duties and other projects as needed


Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
? Fluent in English and Spanish with excellent verbal and written communication skills
? 5 or more years in human resources as a generalist preferred. Casino/Hospitality experience a plus.
? Regular schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm and must be flexible to work other days/times as needed
? Knowledge of Federal employment laws
? Proficient in basic office machines (computer, copier, fax, phone, scanner etc.) and the following software: MS Word, Excel, Power Point and any HRIS and ATS. Types 45 wpm or greater and knowledge of Internet
? High School Diploma or GED required
? PHR or SPHR Certification a plus
