Human Resources Coordinator I, Recruitment and Training
Human Resources Coordinator II, Benefits and Compensation

Hanover County has a unique and exciting opportunity for two Human Resource Coordinators. If you are interested in career growth and a challenge, we have a great opportunity for you to join a dynamic 7 person team with a progressive and well managed County.

The Human Resources Coordinator I for recruitment and training and development manages the recruiting process (including an on-line applicant tracking system), develops and conducts training and manages the occupational health program for the County.

The Human Resources Coordinator II for benefits and compensation manages payroll processing for the County, the Pamunkey Regional Jail and Pumunkey Regional Library. Processing benefits and negotiating contracts with our vendors is an essential part of this position. The incumbent will also oversee workers compensation and will process all retirements through the Virginia Retirement System.

Job Requirements


Education, training, experience:
A Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Human Resources) with at least two (2) years of responsible experience in the related human resources discipline, including supervisory, is required. PHR, SPHR or IPMA-CP; and experience in local government human resources is preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are required, along with computer proficiency.
