POSITION SUMMARY: Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, employment, payroll, benefits and employment equity programs.


1. Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.

2. Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the Human Resources Manager for corrective action and continuous improvement.

3. Represents the company for any unemployment or workers’ compensation claims when needed.

4. Develops, facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce. Conducts new employee orientations at headquarters to, ensure employees gain an understanding of benefit plans and enrollment provisions. Counsels employees (and potential employees/applicants) on plan provisions so that individuals can make informed benefit decisions.

5. Develops, maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.

6. Interviews, screens, and recruits job applicants to fill entry level job openings.

7. Performs payroll functions as needed.

8. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.

9. Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.

10. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, or a related field or equivalent work experience.

2. Two to three years experience in Human Resources Management.

3. Background in employment law, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA, and other government compliance regulations is preferred.

4. Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues.

5. The ability to research and analyze various different type of data information.

6. Must have the ability to make recommendation to effective resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.

7. Ability to organize and prioritize work.

8. PHR a plus
