Charley's Grilled Subs is the largest cheesesteak restaurant chain in the world. We have 500 restaurants located in 16 different countries...and we are growing. We serve our Brotherly Love from coast to coast and have been for more than 27 years!

Currently, we are seeking a Director of HR to join our leadership team. This person will work out of our corporate office in Dublin, OH. The Director of HR will create and implement all HR strategies for the organization, including:

• Develop organization strategies
o Identify and research human resources issues
o Contribute information, analysis and recommendations to organization strategic thinking and direction
o Guide management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing and updating policies, procedures, methods and guidelines

• Implement human resources strategies
o Establish department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations, and compliance

• Develop and maintain compensation and performance review programs
o Assist in the design of compensation and perform review programs for Corporate and Restaurant positions
o Manage existing performance review and bonus programs
o Stay current on compensation and performance review trends

• Design and Maintain Benefit Plan
o Design and administer all Corporate and Restaurant Benefit programs for the organization, including oversight of external benefit broker
o Manage and negotiate annual renewals for Health benefit programs, and ensure all benefit programs are fiscally responsible for both the employees and the organization
o Administrator for the 401k plan, including, but not limited to, approving plan activity (i.e. loans, participant changes), and adhere to plan documents
o Ensure all mandatory regulatory compliance filings are prepared and submitted in a timely manner (e.g. 5500, 8955 SSA, etc.)

• Recruit
o Recruit, select, orient, train, coach, counsel and discipline staff
o Contract with and manage relationship with external recruiting resources

• Manage Employee Relations
o Manage Corporate, Field and Restaurant employee relations issues. Investigate as needed to beneficial resolution for both the employee and the organization.
o Ensure all EEOC claims and lawsuits are handled appropriately, including data gathering and liaising with General Counsel

• Maintain corporate compliance
o Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions

• Update job knowledge through participation in conferences, educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.

• Maintain general office administration and corporate event planning

Job Requirements

Education, training, experience:
• Bachelor Degree
• 10-15 years progressive HR Generalist experience
• 3-5 years of supervisory experience
• Knowledge of immigration processes, preferred
• PHR/SPR preferred
